A hot and steamy (humid) night...

GOOD MORNING SINGAPORE!

It's 2.30 am in the morning and i can't sleep. This is one of the rare moments in life as i usually sleep like a log. So what better way to use up my time than to blog! Wokay... Only had like 1-2 hours of sleep, then woke up covered in perspiration. Even the high setting on the fan was useless to combat the heat. Took a shower to cool my body down. Even the water running from the tap was warm, eventhough i did not switch on the heater. Strange. Tonight is really one of those rare hot and humid nights. And i hate these type of rare nights. Looks like i'll just have to endure till morning. Then i'll be off to work with 6-hours lack of sleep! Hopefully i don't doze off in the air-conditioned room. ha ha.

Speaking of work. Yesterday was a BORE! I'm starting to find work boring and repetitive as we somewhat only do the same things, over and over again. Luckily the people i work with and most importantly, the money, is a plus-point and outweighs the negative side of the job.

You may start to say, "hey, this guy's money-minded!", and think to yourself, money isn't everything in life. If you have any idea of the situation i'm going through, you'll understand why i really need the moolah at this point of time in my life. Hey, if this concerned only me, i couldn't care donkey balls if i go pauper! And this is really important to me. So be a little forgiving and try to understand. And that's that!

Back to just now, i was assigned to do some scanning as my supervisor had to go off to do some errands. Scanning books isn't a hard job. You even get to sit on a cushioned chair. But the different sizes of books is the problem. It is very hard to manipulate the books to enable you to scan it, if it's too bulky or too thin. I had to scan paper-thin books just now. And with a plastic covering, these books were sticking to each other like velcro. If the quantity of same-sized, thin books was little, it wouldn't be much of a problem. But try 400 to 500 of these books on the 3-tier rack. I didn't even know you could fit that much book on the racks! You tend to get disoriented. And i hate it when i'm thrown into situations like this. So i spent a good portion of my time, sorting and scanning the books. As i sort one section to prepare it for scanning, another part would be falling off the rack due to the imbalance. This always gets on my nerves. This was the longest i ever took to scan a trolley full of books. This screwed my mood for a portion of the day but i was back to my normal whacked-out self soon after. Life's too short to be angry all the time.

As i pack and shelve the books, i can't help but to browse through some of the interesting ones. I like design books and there are a good many of them. Comics, cookery, business, sports & recreation just to name a few. Efin & soulking, my colleagues, would be browsing through language books. They'd pick some german or french word and try to show off their new found knowledge. I'm sorry for wasting time by doing this but it's just too irresistable.

This week passed-by really fast. Before i knew it, it's already friday. Last sunday seemed just yesterday. I'm looking forward to the weekends! I'd go nuts if i have to work on saturdays & sundays. *Yawn* The air now is getting cooler and i'm starting to feel sleepy again. Alhamdulillah. Looks like i'm off to get some shut eye. Chaoz fer now...
